Dr Irina Berkun

Dr Irina was born in Ukraine and grew up between Siberia and Ukraine. She came to Ireland to study medicine and graduated from RCSI in 2003. After completing her internship in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, she undertook General Practice training through the RCSI & HSE Dublin North East Vocational GP Training Scheme, gaining experience in emergency medicine, paediatrics, medicine for the elderly, general medicine, psychiatry and general practice.
Dr Berkun has been working in Clondalkin since 2008. Her special interests include women’s health, maternity care, chronic disease management (particularly diabetes), mental health, children’s health and dermatology. She holds a Professional Diploma in Dermatology (RCPI) and has additional training in isotretinoin (Roaccutane) prescribing through the ICGP Dermatology in Practice programme.
In June 2026, Dr Berkun was appointed Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor by the University of Limerick in recognition of her commitment to medical education and clinical teaching. She teaches medical students from both RCSI and the University of Limerick and is a GP trainer for the Dublin North GP Training Scheme. She is committed to lifelong learning and is an active member of her local ICGP faculty.
Outside of work, Dr Irina enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. Her dog, Belle, makes sure she gets her daily walks. She also loves travelling and discovering new places, cultures and cuisines.
Dr Kevin O'Brien
MB BCh BAO BA DCH MRCPI MICGP LMCC CCFP
Dr O'Brien, originally from Cork City, graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2006 and spent a number of years working in hospital medicine in both Ireland and New Zealand before completing his GP training in Galway in 2015. Following a year working as a GP on the remote island of St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean and then three years in Toronto, he is glad to be back on home soil and working in Clondalkin.
Dr O'Brien has extensive experience in hospital medicine including paediatrics, psychiatry, addiction medicine, palliative care and emergency medicine. He has a particular interest in men's health, joint injections, dermatology and paediatrics. He is a GP trainer for the RCSI GP Training Scheme.
When not at work, he is often to be found trying to keep up with his three young daughters, sea swimming whenever he gets a chance or drinking strong coffee.

Dr Romaine King

Dr King joined Clondalkin Family Practice in May 2024. Dr. King is from Dublin and did her undergraduate degree at UCD, qualifying in 2007. She spent several years gaining hospital experience before pursuing General Practice in UCD on the Dublin Mid Leinster training scheme where she completed her specialist training in 2015.
Dr. King has developed a number of areas of special interest, particularly in women's health. She provides comprehensive contraceptive expertise and is able to offer full long acting contraceptive options including coils and is a LARC tutor. She has substantial experience of the menopause and many other gynaecological issues. She also has particular interests in medicine for the elderly, travel health, pregnancy and paediatrics.
Dr. King has taught undergraduate medical students in UCD since 2016. She is also an active member of the ICGP and local ICGP faculty. When not at work, Dr. King enjoys running after her 3 children and running races with her athletics club, Dundrum South Dublin. She also enjoys painting and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Dr Ewa Sheridan - GP Registrar
MB BCh BAO
Dr Ewa Sheridan joined our practice in July 2026 as part of her specialist training in General Practice and will stay until July 2027.
Originally from Poland, Dr Sheridan graduated in Midwifery from the Medical University of Warsaw. She worked as a midwife in Cork and before following her passion for medicine and graduating from University College Cork in 2021.
Dr Sheridan has a particular interest in obstetrics, women’s health and dermatology, and brings a warm, patient-centred approach to her work.
Outside of work, Dr Sheridan enjoys spending time with her family, animals and horse riding.
Dr Magdalena Mikiciuk - GP Registrar
MB BCh BAO LRCPI & SI PDip O&G (RCPI)
Dr Magdalena Mikiciuk joined our practice in July 2026 as part of her specialist training in General Practice.
Dr Mikiciuk graduated from RCSI and commenced her intern year in Beaumont Hospital in 2023.
She began GP specialist training in 2024 and has since completed rotations in a number of specialities including Geriatrics, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Psychiatry.
Dr Mikiciuk has a particular interest in women's health and has attained a Professional Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. She is also due to complete the Professional Diploma in Dermatology this year. Dr Mikiciuk values empathy and compassion, helping patients feel comfortable and listened to.
In her spare time, Dr Mikiciuk enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys watching football and is an avid Liverpool fan.
Lisa Adderley - Practice Nurse
Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN) | Registered General Nurse (RGN) | Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Nursing
Lisa graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2017 and is dual qualified in both adult and paediatric nursing. She gained valuable experience working at Tallaght University Hospital and Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin before moving into General Practice nursing in 2021.
Since joining Clondalkin Family Practice, Lisa has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Nursing, further strengthening her knowledge and expertise in primary care.
Lisa provides a wide range of nursing services, including vaccinations, chronic disease management, cervical screening (smear tests), wound care, health promotion and preventive care. She is passionate about helping patients stay healthy and supporting them to manage long-term conditions. Lisa also enjoys teaching medical students practical skills, including phlebotomy, childhood vaccinations and chronic disease management.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys playing Gaelic football and camogie with her local club and spending time with her family.
Tess Farrelly - Practice Nurse
Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN) | Registered General Nurse (RGN) | Registered Nurse Prescriber (RNP) | Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Nursing
Tess graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2013 with First Class Honours and began her nursing career in a specialist children’s hospital in Dublin. In 2021, she moved into general practice nursing and has since enjoyed building strong, lasting relationships with patients of all ages at Clondalkin Family Practice.
Tess has a special interest in women’s health and leads the school flu vaccination programme. She also enjoys supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals by helping to train medical students in practical skills such as phlebotomy, vaccinations and preventive medicine.
Tess recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Nursing, further strengthening her knowledge and expertise in general practice.
Outside of work, Tess enjoys spending time with her two children, gardening and getting creative with home decorating.
Nicola Hanley- Practice Manager
Many of our patients will know Nicola from her 11 years at Orchard Medical Group (2009–2020). After working at Glenfield Family Practice in Rowlagh, she joined to help establish Clondalkin Family Practice, where her experience and clinical expertise have played a key role in its growth.
Following her time as Clinical Manager, Nicola was appointed Practice Manager, a well-deserved step that reflects her dedication and professionalism. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day running of the practice, supports the team, and helps ensure we continue to provide high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused care.
Nicola also coordinates our Chronic Disease Programme, making sure patients are recalled at the right time for monitoring and review. She continues to work with the out-of-hours service, TLC-DOC, and has completed additional clinical training to support practice investigations.
Outside of work, Nicola enjoys cycling and running, and is kept busy with two dogs and her cat, Cleo.
Meron Teklehaimanot - Clinical Assistant
Meron is originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she worked in anaesthetics before moving to Ireland in 2023. After initially working in Galway, she relocated to Dublin and joined Clondalkin Family Practice in May 2025.
Meron plays an important role in supporting both our clinical and administrative teams. She is actively involved in our Chronic Disease Programme, carrying out ECGs, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, and phlebotomy, while also assisting patients at reception. Her broad clinical experience, calm and caring manner, and dedication to patient care make her a valued member of the practice team.
Meron is currently studying for a Masters degree in Preventive Cardiology, reflecting her commitment to expanding her expertise and supporting patients in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.
Olga Vaganova - Bilingual Secretary
Olga joined the Clondalkin Family Practice team in October 2025 and provides administrative support to our Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking patients, helping to ensure they feel welcomed and supported when accessing our services.
Having worked in a number of healthcare organisations across Dublin, Olga brings a wealth of experience and a friendly, caring approach to her role.
Outside of work, Olga is an accomplished baker who loves trying out new recipes. She also enjoys travelling with her daughter and spending time with her much-loved cat.
Meg Lawlor - Phlebotomist
Meg has been taking bloods since well before Dr Berkun or Dr O'Brien entered medical school. If she can't find a vein and take your bloods, nobody can! We frequently hear patients who have previously been told they have "difficult veins" sing her praises on their way out after she has taken their bloods with ease!
