Welcome to Dr Romaine King!
IMG_20240411_181001_edited.jpg

We are delighted to welcome Dr Romaine King to Clondalkin Family Practice!  Dr King is an incredibly experienced doctor with a particular expertise in women's health.  This also means that we are now in a position to offer Intra-Uterine Device ("coil") services in our clinic (free of charge to women up to the age of 32).  Dr King will start seeing patients as of Monday 13th of May.  You can read more about her and the rest of our staff under the "About Us" tab.

Other changes at the clinic is that Meg, our phlebotomist, (who never misses a vein!) will add a second morning, starting in June, so that we can offer more flexibility for patients wishing to book blood tests.

COVID boosters are now in stock for patients >70 years of age or those with a chronic health condition.  Please contact reception to book in for your vaccine if in one of these categories.

Lastly, Eir / Vodafone still have not installed the necessary cabling for us to upgrade our phone system so we have to make do with how things are for a little longer but we will keep everyone posted once it is upgraded, which will also likely include a change in our contact number.

Clondalkin Family Practice Has Moved!

On Tuesday 6th February, Clondalkin Family Practice opened its doors at our new location in the Boot Rd Primary Care Centre!

As many of you are aware, the development at Boot Rd ended up taking considerably longer than planned. We are eternally grateful to John, Sallyann and all at Freynes Pharmacy for accommodating us while we were waiting for our permanent home and Clondalkin Family Practice may possibly never have gotten off the ground had it not been for them.

We are now greatly looking forward to the additional space and access that the primary care centre offers. We thank you in advance for your patience as we settle in and hope the move will cause as little disruption as possible to patient care.

For now, our phone number will stay the same as we are not able to launch our new phone system until we get fibre cables installed (again, significant delays on behalf of Eir). Once our new phone system is installed, there will be additional automated services and it should also be easier to get through. We will keep you updated.

There are a number of parking spaces, including accessible spaces, available for patients while they are attending the clinic and an underground carpark will open in the coming months when the HSE moves in. There are also additional spaces nearby in the Tesco and Aldi carparks.

The new clinic is located on the ground floor of the newly built white and orange building at the junction of Boot Rd and Fonthill Rd South, 600m from our current location, in the direction of Newlands Cross. Google Maps will update in due course.

Lastly, we greatly appreciate your flexibility and understanding over the last year. We hope that our new location will allow us to further expand and develop services while keeping the friendly atmosphere that we have tried to cultivate in the last year.

We all look forward to meeting you all there!

Kevin, Irina, Ciara, Ann, Nicola, Lisa, Tess, Alla, Meg and Orla

UPDATE RE ONLINE FORMS

Cancel Appointments, Request Doctors' Letters and Book Cervical Smears

As with all clinics, our phone lines are often quite busy so we are doing our best to enable patients to place requests and make bookings through this site wherever possible.  This serves to free up phone lines for those with urgent queries while saving you time.

We ask that all patients requesting repeat prescriptions, notes for work and results contact us via the simple forms under "Online Forms" - see link below.  We aim to respond to your request within 2 working days.

In addition, you can now cancel a booked appointment and request a specific doctor's letter online as well as being able to book a cervical smear test with Lisa, our nurse, by clicking on the Calendly link.  Fees for doctor's letters will apply.

We hope you find these links helpful.  We are always open to feedback and aim to add new online services in the months ahead.
