Evening / Saturday Clinics for Acute Care
With the rise in acute cases presenting to Clondalkin Family Practice, we will be extending our services from the 08/12/25 to see some additional acute cases after 5pm during weekdays and on certain Saturday morning clinics. These appointments are not for regular, routine issues. They are for one single issue that requires acute care - examples include children with temperatures, patients with breathing issues such as significant cough or shortness of breath, urinary infections, sore throats, acute pain etc. When you call the clinic to make an appointment, you may be directed to attend after 5pm. This will mean that we will preserve our regular 9-5 service while also dealing with the annual surge of winter viruses.

For minor illnesses, please consult the excellent HSE website Under The Weather

For parents who feel their child needs to be seen for a minor injury or illness, the Acute Care Centre at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown (open daily 9-5) has an excellent service where you can make a booking for your child to be seen. Seeing us for minor illnesses is probably easier but it is a great services if further assessment is needed or for injuries. It is not for seriously unwell children. See more here - Urgent Care Centre

Lastly, GP out of hours cover is available as always through TLC DOC which operates Mon to Fri from 6pm - 10pm and Sat / Sun from 10am - 6pm. Phone no 045 848707.

Appointments during the winter months are always tight, often because some of us may be off work too with illnesses, but we will try our hardest to accommodate patients as best we can. Thanks in advance for your patience.
Flu and COVID vaccines from Friday 19/09/25
Flu and COVID vaccination is ongoing. Recent communication from the HSE has advised that they expect this year's flu season to peak in late December / early January and advise getting vaccinated by mid December to have protection for this period. We have already seen some very sick patients with flu in the clinic and have referred some to hospital. Your kid getting a squirt of liquid up their nose or you getting an injection could mean avoiding what can be a nasty illness.

Vaccines can be given during any appointment with a doctor or nurse and we will accommodate walk-in patients during the day.

See our vaccine page HERE for everything you need to know about winter 2025 vaccines - who needs them, some common myths addressed and more.

Welcome to Clondalkin Family Practice!
We celebrated Clondalkin Family Practice's 3rd birthday on 3rd October 2025 and have now been in the Clondalkin Primary Care Centre for 18 month. Our team has continued to grow over the last year and you can read more about us here. As of July 2025, there will be five doctors at CFP as well as the rest of our excellent clinical and administrative teams.
We are constantly trying to improve the clinic and really want to provide a great clinical service to our patients. As always, if you have any comments or feedback, please have a word with our practice manager Ann. Please find clinic updates below.
Contacting the Clinic
Since moving to Boot Rd, our new number is (01) 9125290. When you call the clinic during office hours, you will be given a number of options via a voice menu including the option to leave a voicemail if you wish to cancel / reschedule an appointment, request a prescription or request a note for work or social welfare cert. A staff member will then get in touch with you in relation to one of these 3 specific requests.

In order to make an appointment, you will need to hold and speak with a member of staff in person as we will need to appropriately triage the request. We will not be able to respond voicemails requesting appointments or advice on clinical issues.

The option to request results, prescriptions, certs for work, appointments for smear tests etc via the website remains active and we encourage patients to use this as a first option if they have the ability to do so.

Giving us 24 hours notice if you cannot attend your appointment is incredibly important. It is very frustrating for us when a patient does not show and has not given us notice as it means a wasted slot that could have been used for another of our patients who may need to be seen urgently. Please remember to cancel appointments online or by phone as soon as possible.
New Patient Applications
Applications to register with Clondalkin Family Practice are temporarily on hold while we process the applications received in September. Once all of these patients have been seen and registered, we will re-open applications. This will be in Jan / Feb 2026. Many thanks for your patience and keep an eye on our home page for the reactivated link.
Alla Baturova moving on to a new role
After being with us since shortly after CFP opened its doors, Alla is moving on to a new role closer to where she lives. She has been an invaluable member of staff, in particular for our Russian speaking patients, and will be dearly missed.

We are glad to introduce Olga Vaganova, our new secretary, who also speaks both Russian and Ukrainian and will be working 4 days a week to fill Alla's role. She has already fitted in to the team perfectly and we are sure you will all get to know her in the months and hopefully years, ahead.
Introducing Dr Edmond Power and Dr Niall O'Gorman

As Dr McGowan leaves, we are delighted to introduce our two new GP Registrars - Dr Edmond Power and Dr Niall O'Gorman. They will be with us until July 2026 and we're sure many of our patients will get to know them well in the year ahead.

You can read more about them and the extensive previous experience here.

Notice re Artifical Intelligence Scribe Use at CFP
We are always looking at ways of innovating in order to offer you the best possible GP experience. A recent development at Clondalkin Family Practice has been the introduction of what is known as an
"AI scribe". This is a software tool that we sometimes use to document our consultations in order to free us up from typing so that we can turn to you and give you our full attention. If you have any questions about this, feel free to speak with the doctor who is seeing you.
